Educating non-mental healthcare providers about suicide-risk assessment in adolescents

Suicide is the third leading cause of adolescent death in the USA. For every adolescent suicide there are 100–200 suicide attempts. In 2009, 6.3% of American high school students reported having attempted suicide within the previous year, and over twice that many (13.8%) reported experiencing suicidal ideation within the previous year.
